A Contemporary Garden with Italian Roots
Created for clients who had recently renovated their villa, this garden was designed as a seamless extension of the home's renewed character, blending Mediterranean warmth with contemporary simplicity.
A mature olive tree takes centre stage, celebrating the clients' heritage and anchoring the design. Existing trees were carefully retained to preserve shade, character, and a sense of maturity, while Mediterranean planting was introduced to create a cohesive landscape with an established feel.
A small collection of hand-painted tiles retained from the renovation was thoughtfully incorporated into key garden features, including the outdoor kitchen, a bespoke olive tree planter, and an outdoor shower bench, creating subtle connections between the architecture and landscape.
Responding to the site's angled geometry, the design uses sculpted planters around the pool to provide privacy, screen service areas, and create intimate outdoor spaces. The result is a relaxed and refined garden that balances structure, texture, and a strong sense of place.
