The property featured a collection of much-loved thatched gazebos and pergolas that sheltered the seating areas and outdoor kitchen. While these spaces provided a relaxed setting for outdoor entertaining, their use was limited by dust, maintenance requirements, and seasonal weather conditions.
The brief was to transform this area into a fully enclosed pavilion that could be enjoyed throughout the year, centred around an exceptional BBQ kitchen and bar designed for hosting family and friends. Beyond the entertainment space, the clients also wished to revitalize the extensive gardens, introducing new planting, structure, and purpose to the landscape while preserving its established character.

This backyard transformation reimagines a traditional residential landscape into a resort-inspired outdoor living environment designed for entertaining, relaxation, and year-round enjoyment. Centered around a spacious swimming pool and fully equipped pool house, the design seamlessly integrates multiple gathering spaces, including outdoor dining areas, barbecue facilities, lounge seating, and shaded entertainment zones.
Lush, layered planting beds and expansive gardens soften the built elements, creating a sense of privacy while enhancing the property's natural beauty. The pool house serves as the social heart of the outdoor space, featuring a generous entertainment area and dining table capable of hosting family gatherings and larger events. Careful consideration was given to circulation, sightlines, and the connection between indoor and outdoor living, resulting in a cohesive landscape that balances functionality with luxury.
